One-word: JOKE!

Americans cherish independence seeing themselves as doers, not dependent victims. They do not like being told by elitists with fancy academic pedigrees that they are helpless and need the aid of government bureaucracy to bail them out.

The Tea Party movement reinvigorates Americans where our Founders and the prominence of the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag are a penchant for liberty and freedom. We must remind ourselves of the values we place on personal responsibility and accountability. This is not to be found when the government expands.

Barack Obama’s health care plan is about socialized medicine and total control. It has nothing to do with compromise when it comes to implementing free-market solutions. The summit is more political theater and we must not be fooled into thinking something else. The Democrats will do whatever it takes to pass ‘their’ version of the bill even if it will cost them politically.

Republicans focus on six areas but the Democrats continue to ignore: funding high-risk insurance pools for people denied coverage because of medical problems; expanding health savings accounts; allowing consumers to shop out of state for lower-cost plans; capping malpractice judgments to reduce the practice of defensive medicine; helping small businesses afford coverage; and supporting state innovation in trying to control costs.

Obama’s Nanny Care Insults the American Spirit

You are victims. You are helpless against the wiles of big corporations and insurance companies, and you need protection. You need the government to take over and do things you cannot do for yourself.

That is the thinking of what David Brooks calls “the educated class” that favors the Democrats’ health care bills. Members of this elite spout tales of woe of people denied coverage or care with the implication that there but for the grace of government go you. Democrats Insist on Ignoring Conservative Healthcare Proposals

While insisting the focus is on jobs and the economy, President Obama continues today to prop up Democrats’ failed health care, health care, health care agenda until it sucks every last molecule of oxygen out of the room. For the government takeover of health care to succeed, the President just needs the country to concentrate really, really hard for six more hours today so he can explain it one more time. Ahem. There is a fundamental difference in principle between what the Democratic majority is offering and what the American people are looking for. It is time to shred this wasteful, ineffective, corrupting legislation and start from scratch with the voice of the American people as our guide. Health insurance can be made more affordable and more accessible WITHOUT a trillion dollar debt, WITHOUT losing millions of jobs and WITHOUT government control of the health care system. We must start from scratch and do it right.

This summit has become nothing more than a political tool to paint the Republican Party as obstructionist in order to move towards reconciliation. The tone of this political theater reflects exactly why 71% of the American people now believe that Congress is doing a poor job.

From the President’s interrupting of Republican Senators with snide comments about who won the presidential election to Nancy Pelosi’s wildly inaccurate statement that this is actually a “jobs bill” this has become one more Congressional exercise in arrogance and deceit.

The American people have made it clear that this is not the reform they are looking for, and yet this President and this Congress remain dedicated to pushing it through “no matter what.”

This is exactly why we need to fire the career politicians and Washington insiders in November and send real representatives of the people.
