An Independent Authentic Conservative Voice

"There will never be a really free and enlightened State until the State comes to recognize the individual as a higher and independent power, from which all its own power and authority are derived, and treats him accordingly"

~ Henry David Thoreau

Last weekend on Saturday, February 20th, 2010, I had the privilege of attending an event in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. I met NH gubernatorial candidate Jack Kimball and US congressional candidate Jennifer Horn at Grand View Inn, a historic lodge where voters came to discuss the important issues affecting the state and our country.

It was worth the drive up from Maryland and was quite pleased with turnout as I was able to connect with a few Facebook friends. I had a chance to talk briefly with Jack Kimball and Jennifer Horn, both expressing many concerns shared among many voters all across the Granite State. When it comes to jobs, state growth, taxes, personal liberty, second amendment gun rights, national security, and other important issues, New Hampshire residents are fed up with the direction leaders are taking the state.

Solutions are reflected with a common-sense approach and need to be tackled one challenge at a time. Some of what was discussed: auditing and ending of the Fed, U.S. term-limits, hidden taxes affecting businesses, residential land ownership, the LLC business tax that was rushed to pass before residents could respond, protecting the environment through limited regulation,…

There is deep outrage among voters, continually being lied to for political gain and power. Both Jennifer Horn and Jack Kimball expressed that integrity is something they value and in order for us to move forward we must return to an open and honest debate. Sure for many, we have heard the same tune but something has to change. The issues are too huge to be pushed aside. Future generations will suffer dearly if we do not get a handle on our financial crisis.

It’s time for New Hampshire free-staters to stand up and defend liberty. The common message among voters – Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, Conservatives and even some moderate Democrats are elements of commonsense free-market solutions of fiscal responsibility and personal liberty. Holding those in power accountable and fixing the nation’s debt problem seems to be the front issue.

I left the event feeling thrilled at the excitement and honored to have had an opportunity to chat briefly with Jack and Jennifer who are not politicians but average everyday Americans looking to help make a positive difference. Their appeal is refreshing and having business background truly does help when it comes to understanding what it takes to run a job efficiently. I stand firmly with them in support and look forward to future events.

Conservative Scott Brown for US Senate

I am a huge supporter of Republican Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate race replacing the former seat of Teddy Kennedy. Scott is a free-market advocate who believes our strength as a nation flows from its people. He has led a fight in the State against wasteful government spending and higher taxes. This is the kind of candidate that is best to serve and restore principles to his State as well in helping to rid a corrupt and broken government on the federal level.

Not only will Scott usher in core conservative common sense values which I believe the residents of Massachusetts are craving, but he will be the 41st vote against this health care travesty. Scott could very well stop Obamacare! Scott Brown wining in liberal Massachusetts will be monumental and will send a political earthquake across our nation. People all across our nation are fed up with the Obama-Pelosi-Reid leftist alliance and their dismal job performance. A Brown victory would be great news for our country – our Republic lives on and once again the people have spoken.

Poll: Brown Surges To Lead In Senate Race

Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown has surged ahead of his Democratic opponent Martha Coakley, according to a new poll released Thursday night.

Scott Brown now leads liberal Democrat Martha Coakley by a 50%-46% margin. This is the first time Brown has hit the magical threshold of 50% in a poll, suggesting he has the momentum to win this race in this heavily Democratic state! (WCVBTV5 BOSTON)

DEMOCRAT DEBACLE NOV 3rd 2009 – CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER SPEAKS

The Myth of ‘08, Demolished
by Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON — Sure, Election Day 2009 will scare moderate Democrats and make passage of Obamacare more difficult. Sure, it makes it easier for resurgent Republicans to raise money and recruit candidates for 2010. But the most important effect of Tuesday’s elections is historical. It demolishes the great realignment myth of 2008.

In the aftermath of last year’s Obama sweep, we heard endlessly about its fundamental, revolutionary, transformational nature. How it was ushering in an FDR-like realignment for the 21st century in which new demographics — most prominently, rising minorities and the young — would bury the GOP far into the future. One book proclaimed “The Death of Conservatism,” while the more modest merely predicted the terminal decline of the Republican Party into a regional party of the Deep South or a rump party of marginalized angry white men.
This was all ridiculous from the beginning. 2008 was a historical anomaly. A uniquely charismatic candidate was running at a time of deep war weariness, with an intensely unpopular Republican president, against a politically incompetent opponent, amid the greatest financial collapse since the Great Depression. And still he won by only seven points.

JENNIFER HORN TO RUN FOR CONGRESS
07th October 2009

NASHUA – Jennifer Horn, former radio host, columnist and 2008 Republican nominee, announced today her candidacy for New Hampshire’s Second District Congressional seat. Horn issued the following statement:

“Congress lacks the leadership to tackle the problems we are facing. We were promised jobs and a growing economy, but instead we got a take-over of the auto industry, a job killing Cap and Trade bill and Health Care legislation that threatens the very foundation of our democracy.

Americans are outraged at the $11.7 trillion dollar deficit that will burden our children beyond their ability to bear it. Citizens are frustrated with the ballooning growth of government over the past ten years. Voters are furious with elected representatives who repeatedly sing one tune while campaigning, and then whistle another while governing.

Furthermore, there is a growing sense that this Congress is trying to push legislation past the American people without allowing them the opportunity to see it and understand it.

Even the public discourse has reached new levels. When the President tells you to get out of the way, the Speaker calls you un-American and your elected Representatives refuse to hold town halls for their constituents, it has become ever clearer that this government is no longer working for the American people.

We can create a brighter tomorrow, but we will not solve today’s problems by trying the same tired approach. Politicians and Lobbyist are not going to reform Washington. It’s time for a new direction and a new voice. New Hampshire deserves a congresswoman who will stand up and fight for what is right, not what is politically expedient. For this reason, I have decided that I am running for Congress in the Second District.

If we are to solve the problems we face today, we must first restore the integrity of Congress. Good government means smaller government. To create jobs, stimulate the economy, reform Health Care, and create a long-term energy policy, we must reform the very institution of Congress.

This campaign is going to be about protecting our freedoms, holding government accountable to the people, and changing the world that our children and grandchildren will one day live in.

We started this fight last year. We have accomplished a great deal, but we still have a long way to go. We can make Congress work for the people, just as our founding fathers intended. But to make it happen we are going to have to stand together and fight for what we know is right.”

Horn made her announcement surround by friends and supporters. Included were Tom Thomson, Chuck Douglas, Pam Price and Tom Eaton.
